Relationship Reflection

Relationships are important to me as I see them as a way to develop who we are and grow as a person by learning about others and from others.

I cherish my relationships with my two best friends, one of whom is pictured above.  We have known eachother since Elementary and Middle school and no one understands us as we do eachother. It is great to have someone to be completely me with and know that I am loved for all I am, the good and the bad.  We have a rare honesty with eachother were we have grown past many of the false faces people put on and can just be real.  We support eachother through the ups and downs of life, to listen and just be there for one another.

It has been difficult at times to maintain our close bond as we are now all so busy with our lives and live in different states.  Time has shown me that with true friends, time or space does not matter.  When we get together it is like no time has passed.  The fact that there is someone who has seen me grow up and knows where I am from and been through in life is something to be valued.  I have learned from this that as time passes friendships can grow deeper and we can learn more about eachother and ourselves.  I see our friendship as a partnership as it is based on trust, dependability and open communication.

I think my friendships with my two besties will allow me to be an even more effective early childhood  professional because it has shown me how to be a good listener and friend.

  1. Hello Ana
I am close to my friends also and I agree that trust, dependable and open communication is the key characteristics that all positive relationships should have. Depending that a friend will do what she said she would do or a friend who follows through on promises is a friend to keep.
